Avalon Arts Works Magick for Brahm's Bookworks

Back in December of 2006, I was surfing the web when I stumbled on the most beautiful website, that discovery prompted me to finally realize that websites can be a work of art. I rushed over to Brahm and told him that we simply must track down the designer because she was the only person who I thought could breathe the life into our Gallery of Grimoires.

I called Charlene from Avalon Arts and with great enthusiasm, I told her who we were and I was delighted to have found her. She replied " Brahm's Bookworks? The big leather bound Grimoires? " she asked " I own a Raven Grimoire built by you, I bought it several years ago." I knew at that moment, it was no coincidence. The web is a pretty big place and finding this special woman could be likened to finding a needle in a hay stack. Some pretty powerful laws of attraction and good fortune had brought us to her door step.

Charlene worked her magick and gave our Grimoires and Tomes a gallery home that brings everything that we could have wished for. It nearly brought tears to my eyes to see the beauty of the Old World that she masterfully wove into the design. She is the best of the best, and master of website design. Brahm and I love her and are so grateful, and well, I feel like we were blessed with, and by her. Also, tonight is the US, 2 hour premier showing of Blood Ties on Lifetime network, at 9:00 PM EST. Brahm and I are pretty sure that the Grimoire that we built for the show is at least seen in the first episode (it is in many episodes, from what we have been told.) Charlene took our new web site live last night, so that we could celebrate the new show with the new online Magickally enhanced Gallery.

Blood Ties Television Debut

In 2006 Brahm and I were commissioned to build a Grimoire for an up and coming television series Blood Ties. The 2 hour season premier in the US will be on Lifetime Network, March 11th at 9:00 PM. It will start airing in Canada this Fall and the international rights have been sold to Fireworks International in London (we are waiting to hear of the airing date for the European market.) So far, we hear great things about the show. It has an award winning director, a great cast, and a really neat story line. Brahm and I are excited to watch and see our Grimoire make it's television debut and we have our calendar marked for March 11th.

Illumination Group

The illumination group opened up last night. While it probably should have waited another week to allow more time to upload more files, Brahm was so excited, we just had to take it live. Over the next few days, we will be sending out invitations. If you own our work and have not received an invitation (e-mail addresses change), simply drop us a line and let us know. I think this group will grow pretty fast and Brahm is so excited to share with our friends . He has a tutorial uploaded on how to get started and artwork (all original and drawn by him, ready for you to illuminate.)

Illuminated Book of Shadows

In the coming weeks, Brahm will be starting his very own online group exclusively for the folks who own our work. The focus will be to demonstrate how to easily illuminate pages for their Book of Shadows and Grimoires. A good number of people already know how to use old style fonts for the text and how to add clip art to design a page for their book (for those who don't, they will after participating.)

Brahm will also be showing how to hand paint the illuminated pages. Even for folks who don't think they are artistic, will find out how easy it is after learning a few easy techniques. Brahm will cover the use of gold gilding, aging techniques, and how to finish the edges of the paper once the page is done. The outcome will produce incredible results.

He plans on starting the group so everyone can share in the creativity and make some new friends. Be sure to keep checking for when the group gets up and running and join in, it will be great fun. You may also want to drop us an e-mail to let us know that you are interested in joining. It is a closed group, limited to those who own our work, not that we wouldn't mind sharing with everyone, we are simply trying to protect artwork that the group might share with one another from ending up on Ebay.

Brahms Book of Shadows

What a great year 2006 was for us. Brahm and I were commissioned to build a Book of Shadows (Grimoire) for a new television series called "Blood Ties". The show is based on the Tanya Huff Blood Book series. It will be airing in the US in either February or March 2007 and is planned to start airing in Canada in the Fall of 2007. We are pretty excited to see one of our Grimoires on a regulary scheduled television.
